Teaching Associate(Sustainability Education)

HKUST is developing an interdisciplinary course “Introduction to Sustainability” which is designed as a foundation for further studies in sustainability across disciplines. The course will adopt an active-learning approach and the learning environment will include a broad range of online materials. Additional courses and modules in sustainability are to be developed over time.  

The appointee will work with the faculty team and a group of student interns to assist in locating and formatting learning materials already available online to support sustainability education; and the delivery and general administration of “Introduction to Sustainability” and other sustainability courses and modules as they are developed.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience, including experience of issues and academic work in sustainability education. They should have experience of, and capability in, the preparation of digital materials and video (locating, reviewing, adapting, editing and formatting) for teaching and learning.  Applicants should also have experience of the delivery and administration of academic courses and programs.  Apart from being an effective facilitator with excellent English and fluency in Chinese, the appointee must be a dynamic learner who enjoys cross-disciplinary work and can handle multiple project-based assignments. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
