Sustainability Intern - Operations Research (summer semester)

The Sustainability Unit is now seeking talented students who are interested in developing a sustainable campus to join our team. Duties will include:

  • Assisting in development and implementation of the various provisions within the HKUST 2020 Sustainability Plan.
  • Conducting research on campus energy, green buildings, waste and recycling management, and behavior change
  • Developing outreach strategies and plans.
  • Working on specific on-campus projects that improve the sustainability features of the campus.



  • Any UG or PG student of HKUST.  
  • Able to communicate ideas effectively in written and verbal English and Chinese.
  • Experience and knowledge in conducting research.
  • Responsible, dependable, and good organization and time management skills.  
  • Interest in learning more about sustainability and how sustainability principles contribute to smart and creative management. Knowledge of sustainability or behavior change research is an advantage, but not required.
  • Knowledge of graphic design will be added advantage.


* The employment period is from 30 May to 31 August 2016. Interns are expected to work full time during their terms. Salary is $50/hour plus MPF.
